Evan Lewis
Evan Lewis is a Chicago based artist who creates monumental kinetic sculptures for public sites and designs and makes furniture, lighting and accessories. He works predominantly in metal (steel, copper and bronze) and he incorporates wood, stone and glass in his furniture creations. Lewis’s large furniture oeuvre includes minimalist collections, referential pieces and creations that bridge the worlds of function and art. He often creates unique processes and even tools to translate his vision into reality. The signature look of his furnishings is further enhanced by hand-applied patina finishes.
Evan Lewis was born in New York City, grew up mostly in California and graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His sculptures have been acquired by many private and public collections and his furniture collections are represented in showrooms nationwide.
